Diagnosis: Pierre Robin Sequence
Why I’m walking: Because I can! Doctors once thought I might not be able to walk. So, I’m
walking in celebration of defying the odds I have overcome!
Favorite thing about CHLA: The doctors and nurses have cared for me since I was a baby. They check on
us. They made sure my family knew how to care for me at home. They remember me and will say "hi"
to me when we see each other in the hallways.
Fun Fact: I like to be a good helper to other people.

Meet Nano
Age: 10
Diagnosis: Fanconi Anemia
Why I’m walking: I’ve been a CHLA patient for almost 10 years. I want to be able to help
other kids the way CHLA helped me.
Favorite thing about CHLA: Music therapy and Child Life. They are amazing and they helped me get
through my hospital stay.
Fun Fact: I love singing and dancing in my Mariachi outfit. My favorite song is "Cielito
Lindo."

Meet Pierce
Age: 9
Diagnosis: Acute Myeloid Leukemia
Why I’m walking: I want to raise money for kids who are being treated at CHLA.
Favorite thing about CHLA: I remember making hand balloons out of gloves with the nurses at the 4
West clinic!
Fun Fact: I survived cancer at CHLA thanks to the nurses and doctors. My blood type has changed
thanks to a bone marrow transplant.
