Why I Tri

In 2011 I became a mom to twins. Our smaller baby was diagnosed with two congenital heart defects. At three months old, she was admitted to CHLA and underwent open heart surgery after a two week stay in their CTICU. Sadly, Sonne’s surgery failed and she passed away on August 31, 2011.

Shortly after her loss I began running. In 2019 running evolved into triathlon. Every stroke in the water, every push of the pedal, every touch of my feet on the pavement began with Sonne.
