Another year participating in the Nautica Malibu Triathlon! I’m so excited to be apart of this important event for another year since this cause is so near and dear to my heart.

When I was 15, I lost my best friend, Marisa, to cancer.  She was one of the most beautiful people I have ever met, both inside and out.  Watching someone so close to me go through such a difficult journey has definitely shaped who I am as a person today.  In participating in this triathlon and other events for Children’s Hospital LA I have come to realize and deeply appreciate how much Children’s Hospital does in helping so many people in these difficult situations. 

For more than five decades the physicians, researchers and staff at the Cancer and Blood Disease Institute (CBDI) at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles have been saving children’s lives and working to increase cure rates through innovative clinical care and research programs, academic excellence and global leadership. 

The CBDI offers access to the latest treatment options being tested in clinical trials through our participation in national and international research consortia. Each year, the CBDI enrolls more than 1,612 children in approximately 180 clinical trials and other research studies. 

I’m so grateful for all that CHLA do to make their patients and their families feel comfortable and loved through very tough journeys.  Because of this support, raising money for CHLA to support them in their research efforts to end pediatric cancer is very important to me.

I’m excited to participate in this event in Marisa’s name for another year and am eager to begin fundraising so that we can contribute as much as possible to helping CHLA end pediatric cancer! Please help me reach my goal so that we can continue to support a great organization that provides love and care for so many children and their families.  Anything helps and is appreciated!
