Welcome to Billy Becerra's Walk and Play Page
Welcome to our team’s Walk & Play L.A. page! Rex and the Heartbeaters are excited for our ninth annual Walk & Play L.A. in support of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
The team was founded in memory of Rex Becerra. Rex was Born to Billy & Elisha Becerra March 20, 2017. He was quickly diagnosed with Heart Disease and within 9 hours of birth was transported to two hospitals. After the first two hospitals could not handle the magnitude of his heart condition he landed at Children's Hospital where he underwent open heart surgery. The surgery was successful, however, Rex's heart was to weak to overcome the recovery of the damage from birth to time he was taken into CHLA. After watchin him decline to a condition we understood he could not return, we held him in our arms as we removed the life support (ECMO) and be peacefully earned his angel wings on April 4, 2017.
In his short time on Earth he left a lasting impression that our family will cherish. We appreciate the outstanding support from friends and family and the incredible staff at Children's Hospital Los Angeles.
More children receive care from CHLA than any other hospital in the region—and often CHLA comes to the rescue when other hospitals run out of medical options or don’t have the expertise to treat young patients. Walk & Play L.A. supports the only hospital dedicated solely to the health of children in Los Angeles.
Here are a few ways you can get involved:
- Join our team at Walk & Play L.A. and create your own fundraising page.
- Donate to a team member using the list to the right and help us reach our fundraising goal.
We hope you’ll consider a donation to Children's Hospital Los Angeles.
Your tax-deductible gift will make a difference in the lives of many young patients and their families. Any amount will be greatly appreciated and will help further CHLA’s mission to create hope and build healthier futures.
Thank you!
