Kippy's fundraising page for CHLA Dog Therapy
Kip is a therapy dog at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Please donate to support his important dog therapy work.
Kippy’s story:
Kip was adopted from a shelter in Apple Valley, CA in February 2024. He overcame abandonment, street life, and one of the highest risk shelters in the country to become an amazing family pet. His calm, friendly disposition, love of being petted by all people, and natural therapeutic presence made him a perfect therapy dog.
Kip started his dog therapy work in 2025. He is beloved by CHLA patients (he lays with them on their beds) and also CHLA staff including the Heart Institute team members, who he frequently visits as their "home-team" therapy dog. He comforts kids going through ordeals such as open heart surgery and cancer chemotherapy.
Kip hopes to become the first Fetal Cardiology Therapy Dog. It is our goal that by bringing dog therapy to the CHLA Fetal Cardiac Clinic, we may ease the anxiety of pregnant mothers and families undergoing prenatal diagnosis of congenital heart disease.
Kippy’s work would not be possible without CHLA’s Amerman Family Foundation Dog Therapy Program, which relies 100% on donations! Please consider a donation to help Kip’s team and allow him to continue to do the amazing work supporting patients and staff at CHLA.
Thank you!
