Rex and the Heartbeaters
Welcome to Rex and the Heartbeaters Walk & Play L.A. page!
We are excited to be part of the 10th annual Walk & Play L.A. in support of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
We have participated in Walk and Play LA since the inaugural event that was created the same year Rex came to us. It is incredible how the time has flown by and we are set to walk in our 10th annual Walk & Play L.A. in support of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and honor the memory and impact baby Rex has on us.
Rex was born March 20, 2017. The delivery doctors knew something was wrong, so they called in for help. He was transferred to Queen of the Valley NICU where it was not long before they diagnosed a heart condition that needed to be escalated. Within 9 hours of his birth, Rex was on to his 3rd hospital and into his first surgery at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. A few days later he was into an open hear surgery, but after a strong fight through the recovery it proved to be too much for his little body to endure.
In his sort time on Earth, Rex left a lasting impression on our family.
Although his story didn’t end the way we had hoped, we witnessed firsthand a number of families that did receive the miracle of life and health through Children’s Hospital Los Angeles that is there to come to the rescue when other hospitals cannot.
Here are a few ways you can get involved:
- Donate to help me reach my fundraising goal.
- Sign up and join us for this exciting event
I hope you’ll consider a donation to Children's Hospital Los Angeles, which is currently commemorating its 125th anniversary and setting the stage for the next 125 years of children’s health. Your tax-deductible gift will make a difference in the lives of many young patients and their families. Any amount will be greatly appreciated and will help further CHLA’s mission to create hope and build healthier futures.
Thank you!
