2024 Walk & Play L.A.

Urology Squad Mind over Bladder

Welcome to the Division of Urology Walk and Play L.A. page! We have the honor to work with so many patients that continue to inspire me to work hard and provide the best care that these patients deserve. And we cannot do it alone! The Urology Squad - "Mind Over Bladder" is the best team out there! Our team consists of Surgeons, Nurses, Physician Assistants, Fellows, Residents, Researchers, and all of our administrative staff that work tirelessly for our patients.

We invite you to support our team by joining us on the Santa Monica Pier on Saturday, May 18th and by donating to our page
to help us reach our fundraising goal. Your tax-deductible gift will make a difference in the lives of many young patients and their families. Any amount, large or small, will be greatly appreciated and will help us create hope and build healthier futures for the children in our care.

Here are some accomplishments that your donation supports:

  •  CHLA Division of Urology reached #6 in the Nation on US News and World Report rankings for Pediatric Urology.
  • Our research arm, the GOFARR lab at The Saban Research Institute at CHLA received 4 NIH grants
  • Health Systems and Innovation Program in Urology pushes a digital front door with virtual fetal urology consults in the community as part of the greater Fetal Maternal Center effort at CHLA. Recent research headed by Dr. Evalynn Vasquez demonstrated that prenatal consultations with urologists significantly decreased the anxiety of expecting mothers.
  • Andy Chang, MD, Evalynn Vasquez, MD-MBA, Roger De Filippo, MD, and Scott Sparks, MD, were again named LA Top Doctors for several years in a row!
  • Evalynn Vasquez, MD-MBA, was selected as a panelist at the American Urological Association’s 2024 annual meeting regarding Management of Neurogenic Bladders.

  • Evalynn Vasquez, MD-MBA, was named Chair of the Board of Directors for Association of Bladder Exstrophy Community. She recently traveled to India for the International Exstrophy Workshop and plans to go to Uganda to expand the local Exstrophy Workshop

Thanks to your support, our team can continue to educate, innovate and excel at providing complex care to patients and families. We would not be able to do this without our community of philanthropists.

Thank you!
