When I ran the LA Marathon with Team CHLA in 2020, I thought it would be a one-time deal. And yet, we find ourselves here again! I remember the week leading up to the 2020 Marathon, not knowing if it would be cancelled due to this virus that we were all told was headed our way. I was so happy to have been able to fundraise and train, and not being able to complete the Marathon itself would have been heartbreaking. Like many hospitals around the country, CHLA was hit hard during the Covid-19 Pandemic. Despite the hardships, this hospital has continued to provide excellent care for children in Los Angeles and around the world. I decided to run the 2021 Marathon with this team to again raise money and support for the hospital that I love. And what better way to bookend the pandemic than with a couple of marathons?! I have committed to raising $650 for the hospital between now and the Marathon on November 7, 2021.
