Frequently Asked Questions
Your Fundraising Page
How do I create a fundraising page?
Visit the Fundraise for Long Beach Legacy Triathlon page and make your selection.
- If you are a member of a Corporate Challenge team, select “Join an Existing Team,” search for your team and click “Join.”
- If you want to create a new Corporate Challenge team or you have a group (family, friends, etc.) that you want to join you as a team, email your request to triathlon@chla.usc.edu.
- If you are an individual not associated with a Corporate Challenge team, select “Participate as an Individual”
To customize your fundraising page, visit the Participant Center and update it to include a unique name or URL. There you can tell your story, upload a photo, set a fundraising goal and send fundraising emails to friends and family members.
I am unable to attend the event, but I still want to fundraise.
Please register (with your Team or as an individual), customize your fundraising page and begin fundraising. If you qualify for the fundraising incentive prize(s), we will arrange for pick-up/delivery.
I am having trouble setting up my fundraising page. Who do I contact?
Please email the CHLA triathlon fundraising team at triathlon@chla.usc.edu.
Fundraising
Are all Corporate Challenge or Team participants encouraged to fundraise?
Yes. The Long Beach Legacy Triathlon is a community fundraising event, and all participants, including team members, are encouraged to fundraise in support of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Each individual must raise a minimum of $250.
Do all individual triathletes not on a Corporate Challenge or Team need to fundraise?
We encourage everyone to participate in fundraising. Individuals not on a Corporate Challenge team do not have a minimum fundraising requirement.
How much does it cost to fundraise?
There is no cost to set up a fundraising page, but we encourage you to make an initial donation to your own page to show others that you are committed to the cause.
Is there a fundraising minimum? What’s a good fundraising goal?
The fundraising minimum is $250 per individual. Your fundraising goal is a personal choice based on your expectations. You can always increase your goal if you meet it quickly.
Donations and Tax Receipts
Can donations be made by check?
Yes. Please make the check payable to Children's Hospital Los Angeles and include the name of the triathlete you are supporting in memo line.
Checks are to be mailed to:
4650 Sunset Boulevard, MS #29
Attn: Michael Sandler/Long Beach Triathlon
Los Angeles, CA 90027
My employer will match my donation, what do I need to do?
Request a matching gift form from your Human Resources or Personnel department and email it to matchinggifts@chla.usc.edu.
My supporter needs a tax-receipt letter. How do I get one?
- For online donations via your personal fundraising page, a tax receipt is automatically generated.
- For donations made via cash or check, donors must provide their complete name (first and last names) and mailing address. Once the donation is processed, CHLA will mail a thank you letter and tax receipt.
Your Donation Supports
