Meet Mia
Age: 2
Why I’m walking: As a family, we are walking with our daughter Mia, and for every child and family
who has found hope at CHLA. We walk in gratitude for the doctors and nurses whose care gives children the chance
to grow, play, and dream.
Favorite thing about CHLA: The people. From day one, the doctors, nurses, and staff treated Mia like
their own and supported our family through every step while Mia underwent a liver transplant.
Fun Fact: Mia loves singing “How Far I’ll Go” from the movie Moana, chasing her brother around the
house, and being a good helper.
Meet Vivian
Age: 13
Why I’m walking: I have been cared for my entire life by CHLA for multiple hereditary exostoses
(MHE), a rare genetic condition that causes non-cancerous bone tumors. Walk & Play L.A. is a great activity for
my family to do together and support the hospital.
Favorite thing about CHLA: All the staff in the Jackie and Gene Autry Orthopedic Center are so kind, and
they listen to me.
Fun Fact: I have a black belt in Taekwondo.
Meet Wayne
Age: 11
Why I’m walking: A few years ago, I was so ill from COVID, I needed to be hospitalized. CHLA saved
my life. Now, I want to give back and help other sick kids.
Favorite thing about CHLA: They are always so supportive and care for everyone.
Fun Fact: I’m a competitive parkour athlete. I love doing flips and twists!
